TRIBUTE TO MY MONARCH : King Jigme Singye Wangchuk

Eleventh November, the most important day for Bhutan
Flags raised, prayers done, butter lamps were burn
Maybe there was rainbow, around the morning sun
On this day,” the greatest monarch” of Bhutan was born.

The challenges that awaits, nobody has known
The sorrows sounded, untimely father left for heaven
The tireless journey of challenges, thus began
Spear handed and focused, did all, although was young

Hydels came, revenue roused, better life began
Buses ply, aeroplane flew, that was still unknown
Forest protected, industries made, agriculture was enhanced
Coined Gross National Happiness, as the philosophy of development.

Teachers trained, masters done, we have surgeons
Life expectancy today is greatly enhanced
USA, Canada, Japan is not anymore a new land
Bhutanese are gone and are studying in those land.

All these happened, because of one man
How to repay those, will gratitude alone can?
I call thee the king of the kings,

The history shall remember as a true visionary king.
